Your Questions, Answered
-
I work with middle school, high school, and college students. Instruction is tailored to each student’s skill level, goals, and academic needs.
-
I support students in a wide range of academic writing, including analysis essays, research papers, personal essays, and college or scholarship applications. I also offer a full-year writing curriculum for homeschooling families.
-
Coaching writing students goes beyond helping students complete assignments. I provide instruction in the writing process itself and help students contextualize their writing in terms of their purpose and audience so they can become stronger, more proficient writers over time.
-
I am not a certified specialist in dyslexia intervention or special education, but I have significant experience teaching and supporting students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADHD, and other learning challenges in writing instruction. I use a patient, individualized approach that can include breaking tasks into manageable steps, providing clear structure, and adapting instruction to support each student’s needs.
If a student requires specialized therapeutic intervention, I encourage families to pair writing coaching with support from an appropriately trained specialist when needed.
-
Both! I offer online sessions via Zoom as well as limited in-person sessions for local students. I also offer a quick written feedback option with no live instruction.

That depends on your student’s needs. Some benefit from weekly ongoing support for school assignments, while others need a short-term package to grow skills related to a specific writing project. Students seeking deeper skill development often benefit from more consistent support.
-
This depends on what your student needs that week. Sessions may include direct instruction, guided practice, feedback on student writing, and revision support.
-
No. My role is to teach and guide students through improving their own writing. Feedback is instructional and designed to help students build skills and independence. Your student will never simply hand me a piece of writing and receive a flawless edited copy in return.
-
Students may email me a draft outside of scheduled sessions and receive written feedback within 24 hours of payment. Feedback focuses on revision priorities, organization, clarity, and next steps. Payment must be received before feedback is returned.
-
Payment: Payment is due in advance of scheduled sessions or at the time a package is reserved.
Cancellations: Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice. Session cancelled with less than 24 hours’ noticed, or missed without notice, may be charged as completed sessions. Note: I do make exceptions for illness. Sometimes these sessions can be moved to Zoom.
Refunds: Completed sessions are non-refundable.
No refunds after a package has begun; unused sessions may be converted to credit valid for 90 days.
Because time is reserved in advance and instruction is personalized, refunds are not available for missed sessions, completed sessions, or work already performed (including written feedback reviews).

No tutor can ethically guarantee grades or admissions outcomes. My commitment is to provide high-quality instruction, individualized support, and a strong process for student growth. Feedback provided is instructional and should not be interpreted as editing or ghostwriting services.
